West Boise kids water park proposed

Published: February 5, 2013

Boise Parks and Recreation will hold a public meeting Feb. 12 to discuss adding a water spray park to the master plan for the Comba Neighborhood Park, 2995 N. Five Mile Road.

The spray park would include four in-ground fountains and bubblers, as well as rotating "splash blasters" and interactive water play features. An anonymous donor has provided $501,00 to pay for the water features, Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Amy Stahl said. The cost of the water features is unknown, Stahl said.

Over the summer, a community garden, two picnic shelters and a parking lot were added to the partially developed park.

The Feb. 12 meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Summerwind School of Math and Science, Room 17, 3675 N. Jullion Way. People who are unable to attend the meeting can submit comments to project manager Wendy Larimore at wlarimore@cityofboise.org or call (208) 608-7636. The park's master plan is available on the Boise Parks and Recreation website at http://bit.ly/combapark.
