The Broncos shut out Seattle 7-0 on Sunday at the Boas Tennis Center to finish off a winning weekend. All six singles players won in straight sets. Sandy Vo, ranked 98th nationally, earned a 6-1, 6-2 win in the top singles slot for BSU (2-0).
BSU MENS TENNIS: The Broncos fell to No. 23 Washington 5-2 in Seattle. BSU (2-4) got wins from Andy Bettles at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-7, 6-3) and Filipp Pogostkin at No. 4 singles (7-6, 0-6, 10-6). Although the Broncos did not win the doubles point, Garrett Patton and Scottt Sears recorded a victory at No. 2 doubles (8-7).
COLLEGE OF IDAHO SKIING: The Coyotes took second place in the mens and womens giant slalom competitions at the Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference event Saturday and Sunday at Brundage Mountain. Zach Shenk had the highest individual finish for the C of I, also placing second.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE MENS BASKETBALL: Alaska-Anchorage defeated the Crusaders 73-72 late Saturday in Alaska. Jordan Nicholes led NNU (9-10, 3-8 GNAC) with 17 points.
NNU BASEBALL: The Crusaders swept Holy Names in a doubleheader Saturday in Oakland, Calif., 9-5 and 6-4.
NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders split a doubleheader with Menlo College on Saturday in Oakland, Calif., losing 10-9 and winning 7-5. Kira Varady had three home runs on the day.
