Boise State football: Harper invited to Texas all-star game, NFL combine

Tailback D.J. Harper is scheduled to play in the Texas vs. The Nation game and has been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Harper, who played in a school-record 54 games spread across six seasons, rushed for 1,137 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season. He will wear No. 24 and play for the Texas team in the all-star game. Harper is from Cypress, Texas. The game begins at 12:30 p.m. in Allen, Texas, and is scheduled to air regionally on Fox Southwest. Harper’s workout at the combine in Indianapolis is Feb. 24.

HOUT JOINS STAFF: Byron Hout, a former All-Mountain West linebacker at Boise State, has returned as a defensive graduate assistant and will work work with linebackers this season. The Coeur d’Alene native, who was a grad assistant at Washington State last season, replaces Andrew Browning, who accepted a full-time assistant coaching position at UTEP.
