Franco's NY Style Pizzeria opens today, Friday, at 201 W. Boise Ave., with free sample slices and small sodas.
The doors open at 10 a.m. and close at midnight for opening day. The restaurant's specialties are calzones and extra-large thin-crust slices of New York-style pizza.
Thomas Warren and Rich Franco, two East Coast transplants who met in Idaho Falls, planned to open a pizzeria at 1340 Vista Ave. but have put that opening on hold until August, Warren said.
Warren told the Statesman in November that the pizzeria will focus on high-quality ingredients, especially the cheese, which "is going to be our most expensive ingredient."
