Colorado State routs Boise State men's basketball 77-57

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Colorado State’s men’s basketball team won its 25th consecutive home game in impressive fashion Wednesday night, crushing Boise State 77-57 at Moby Arena.

Colorado State went on a 14-2 run in the last eight minutes of the first half to take control and spent the second half simply adding to its lead.

Pierce Hornung had 23 points and 13 rebounds for Colorado State. Hornung is the leading rebounder in the Mountain West.

Colorado State entered the game No. 1 in the country in rebounding margin and held a big rebounding edge throughout the game. The Rams finished with 39 rebounds (14 offensive).

It was the second straight loss for Boise State (14-6, 2-4 in the Mountain West) and the fourth in five games.

Boise State played without junior guard Jeff Elorriaga (concussion). The Broncos were also without leading scorer Derrick Marks (illness) in the second half. Marks was limited to nine minutes in the game.

Mikey Thompson, who started in place of Igor Hadziomerovic, led the Broncos with 13 points.
