Darby, 3, is a neutered male, blue merle, border collie and Australian shepherd mix.

Darby is an extremely handsome dog who is ready to turn on the charm in an effort to win you over. He is house-trained and crate-trained. He does well in a home with children. Darby loves to play fetch.

He knows how to sit on command and has the brains to learn so much more. He’d thrive with an owner that will help him take advantage of those smarts. Darby will need a cat-free home and his previous owner says he may prefer to be an only dog as well.

Darby is in kennel 303 (#18991623) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
