Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State gymnastics team beats BYU on the road

The Broncos picked up their second win of the season, beating BYU 194.700-194.425 late Saturday in Provo, Utah. Sophomore Caitlin Mann led BSU (2-0) with her first career victory in the all-around (38.625). Mann had a career best on vault (9.850) to notch a tie with teammate Amanda Otuafi for the win. She also shared the bars title (9.850) with teammate Brittany Potvin-Green and the beam title (9.750) with BYU’s Raquel Willman. Potvin-Green and Otuafi each earned a 9.850 on floor exercise to share the final event title of the night. The Broncos will face BYU (4-3) again at 7 p.m. Friday at Taco Bell Arena in the first of two Beauty and the Beast meets with the BSU wrestling team.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO SKIING: The Coyote men won their first Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference qualifier since 2009 on Sunday in giant slalom at Mount Bachelor Resort in Bend, Ore. The Coyote women placed second.
