Idaho Public Television is accepting entries, beginning February 1, from young writers and illustrators in kindergarten through third grade for the 19th annual PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest.
Stories can be fact or fiction, prose or poetry, and the artwork for a story at least five illustrations can include drawings, photos, collages or other media. A child who cannot write may dictate the text to an adult, and text can be typed or handwritten.
All stories submitted to IdahoPTV will be judged in Idaho, and all entrants will receive certificates of participation. First-, second-, and third-place winners in each grade level will be recognized at a local celebration, and receive a prize package for their efforts. In addition, all first-place stories from Idaho will be automatically entered to compete at the national level.
Visit idahoptv.org/kids for details, entry forms and contest rules. The deadline for receipt of entries is March 29. Entry forms also are available at libraries and schools throughout the state.
Entries can be mailed to Idaho Public Television, P.O. Box 443101, 875 Perimeter Drive MS3101, Moscow, ID 83844-3101.
