Boise State track produces three wins at Nampa meet

Boise State’s winners at the Jacksons Invitational/New Balance Boise Indoor on Friday in Nampa included Daveon Collins (men’s 200, 21.48), Barak Watson (men’s 3,000, 8:20.76) and Matt Post (weight throw, 58-8). The meet with nearly 1,000 competitors in collegiate and high school events continues Saturday.

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: Cal defeated the Broncos 4-1 at the ITA Kick Off Weekend in Berkeley, Calif. In singles, freshman Thomas Tenreiro earned the Broncos’ lone point with a win at the sixth position, defeating No. 92 Mads Engsted in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. BSU plays Santa Clara on Saturday morning.

BSU SWIMMING AND DIVING: Boise State took eight of the 11 swimming events in a dual meet at Denver. Jessica Bottelberghe won the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events while also helping the Broncos to a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes defeated Evergreen 89-78 in Olympia, Wash. Miguel Rodriguez led the C of I (10-11, 6-5 Cascade Conference) with 19 points.

C OF I WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes defeated Evergreen 63-52 in Olympia, Wash. Aleah Lowber led the C of I (14-6, 10-2 CCC) with 21 points.
