Boise Airport parking lot will open earlier beginning Sunday

Published: January 25, 2013

The economy parking lot will begin opening one hour earlier, at 4 a.m., to accommodate early morning travelers. The change will begin Sunday morning.

The lot, located west of the airport on Victory Road, opened last November to help offset the temporary decrease in spaces during the expansion project at the airport's parking garage.

The remaining garage spots are filling up pretty quickly, so officials hope that opening the economy lot lot an hour early will allow some travelers to go there first and have time to park, get a shuttle to the airport, and get through security with plenty of time to board an early morning flight.

Beginning at 4 a.m. on Sunday, travelers will be able to park, then take a shuttle to the terminal. If the earlier hours prove popular, the airport will continue the service even after the parking lot expansion is complete this November.
