Published: January 25, 2013

Idaho blew an early 17-point lead en route to a 78-73 loss to Texas State in Moscow. Kyle Barone scored 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Vandals (7-11, 3-5 WAC) and become the all-time top scorer among post players in Idaho history. Mike McChristian added 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the team’s 19 turnovers. Joel Wright scored 37 points off the bench for Texas State, setting an individual high in the WAC this season.

IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Vandals defeated Texas State 72-60 in San Marcos, Texas. Alyssa Charlston led Idaho (8-11, 5-3 WAC) with 14 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. It was her seventh double-double of the season.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders upset No. 7-ranked Simon Fraser 60-59 in Nampa. Megan Hingston had a game-high 20 points and a career-best 18 rebounds for NNU (14-2, 6-2 GNAC). It was the ninth straight win for the Crusaders.

IDAHO STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL: First-place Montana defeated the Bengals 70-51 in Missoula, Mont. Neveij Walters had a season-high 12 points to lead the Bengals (4-14, 3-6 Big Sky).

BOISE STATE WRESTLING: The Broncos will host Stanford at noon Feb. 3 — a change from the original schedule because it’s Super Bowl Sunday. The Pac-12 match was originally scheduled for 2 p.m., and the Super Bowl starts at 4:30 p.m.
