Children’s author Obert Skye — who created the “Leven Thumbs” book series — has a new series: “The Creature from My Closet” (Henry Holt and Co., $12.99). It’s about Rob, who tosses all the books he’s supposed to read into his closet, which was once a science lab. When strange creatures start showing up — a mix of characters from the books such as Wonkenstein and Potterwookie — Rob’s life gets interesting. Skye will be in Boise this weekend for a book signing.
