The freezing rain which has made driving hazardous all over the Treasure Valley has resulted in the closure of Nampa and Caldwell schools Thursday.
Boise and Meridian schools will remain open but buses might be late as drivers negotiate the slippery roads, officials said Thursday morning.
Boise Schools have cancelled all afternoon kindergarten and preschool classes. Note: JFK preschool is being held.
Other closures for Thursday in the Boise District include the Professional Technical Education Program; Driver's Education; Boise Evening School; Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center Afternoon Program and athletic practice at junior high schools.
High school athletic practices and games are not cancelled.
In addition to these programs, several parent meetings and special events have been cancelled by individual schools. Call your local school to double check.
Vallivue, Homedale, and Middleton schools are all closed Thursday. So are Victory Charter School and Legacy Charter School in Nampa.
The College of Idaho cancelled all classes Thursday.
Borah High School officials say Thursday's production of "The Music Man" is not cancelled.
