Many Idaho dentists will be offering free dental care to uninsured children next month, as part of the annual Give Kids a Smile program.
The dentists will give cleanings, screenings, treatments and education. Idaho dentists treated more than 1,300 children last February.
"Too many children in our state live daily with pain due to poor oral health," said Dr. Jack Klure, president of the Idaho State Dental Association. "Give Kids a Smile is an excellent opportunity for us as dentists to provide some relief for many children that aren't able to receive proper oral care any other time of the year."
Hundreds of Idaho dentists participate in the program. Appointments are being coordinated through the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine. Call 2-1-1 to register an eligible child and schedule an appointment.
