Second annual Writers in the Attic Competition: Now through Friday, Feb. 22, submissions will be accepted. This years theme is detour. Stories will be blind-judged by a local literary notable and published as part of the Writers in the Attic 2013 anthology. Looking Ahead: The Cabin presents Literary Luminary Anthony Doerr Feb. 12 at the Egyptian Theatre, Boise. The Cabin welcomes Doerr as part of the annual literary series Readings & Conversations. He is the award-winning author of four books. His numerous accolades include a Guggenheim Fellowship, an NEA Fellowship, four O. Henry prizes, the 2010 Story Prize and two Pushcart Prizes. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by audience questions and a book signing. Tickets are available at the Egyptian Theatre box office and online at egyptiantheatre.net.
