Idaho colleges roundup: Idaho men’s basketball falls to Louisiana Tech

Kenneth Smith scored 22 points to lead Louisiana Tech to a 72-66 victory over Idaho on Thursday night in Ruston, La. The Bulldogs (15-3, 5-0 WAC) scored 33 points off Idaho’s 23 turnovers. Louisiana Tech had 10 turnovers. Stephen Madison had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Kyle Barone scored 19 for the Vandals (6-10, 2-4).

IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Vandals’ had a 20-point lead in the second half, but watched it slip away as Louisiana Tech came back to win 67-58 in Moscow. Idaho (6-11, 3-3) was led by Alyssa Charlston with 16 points.

IDAHO STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Tomas Sanchez capped a career-high 22-point performance with a game-winning shot with 2.5 seconds left, lifting Idaho State to a 60-59 win over Sacramento State in Pocatello. Sanchez was 8-of-16 from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point range for the Bengals (4-12, 3-4 Big Sky).

ISU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Lindsey Reed scored 19 points to guide the Bengals to a 62-52 win over Sacramento State in Sacramento, Calif. Idaho State improved to 9-7, 4-3 Big Sky.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Seattle Pacific slid past the Crusaders 77-62 in Nampa. Kenny Jones had 17 points for NNU (9-6, 3-4 GNAC).

NNU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Megan Hingston and Chelsie Luke combined for 43 points to lead the Crusaders to a 76-49 road win over Alaska Anchorage. NNU improved to 12-2, 4-2 GNAC.
