With Elaine Benes in retirement and Napoleon Dynamite hanging out somewhere far away with Uncle Rico, the field is wide open at the second “Boise’s Best Bad Dancer” competition. Here’s how it works: Everyone pays $5 admission. Anyone who wants to compete is welcome. You spin a wheel that decides the song category. Then you get 90 seconds to go nuts in front of a very supportive audience. “We’re looking for goofy folks who have more spirit than skill,” organizer Daniel Shamblin Foster says. “The show is, overall, comedy, and it was a hoot last time!” Bonus: There are prizes. Plus, everyone is free to stay and watch stand-up comedian Joe Fontenot’s show afterward.
