The state's push to build a 580-space, six-story garage just north of the Capitol building aren't dead, even though the city's Design Review Committee rejected its most recent plan, Boise design review manager Sarah Schafer said Thursday.
The committee has accepted the garage's proposed height, Schafer said, while rejecting the design of the building and materials the state planned to use as out of character with the historic surrounding area.
"Its not dead in the water at all," Schafer said. "Were still working with them."
Martin Santoyo, the state's representative on the project, could not be reached for comment.
Schafer said she expects the state to modify its plans for the garage and submit them for a Feb. 13 Design Review Committee hearing.
"I can't really tell you how much it's going to change," she said.
Schafer said Boise will mail notices later this month to neighbors within 300 feet of the proposed garage's site.
