The Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency announced Thursday it would rehire Anthony Lyons, who announced Wednesday that he was resigning his post as director of the Capital City Development Corporation.
Lyons said his resignation was due to family considerations and not any animosity or controversy in his Boise job.
In the mid-2000s, Lyons began working at the Gainesville urban renewal agency and helped build it up, focusing on overcoming urban blight. He oversaw the founding of a research district there and construction of a new stormwater park.
Lyons said he'll stay on in Boise until sometime next month.
In the search for a replacement for Lyons, the CCDC board of commissioners will look for candidates to continue his push to focus agency resources on new construction projects, chairman Phil Reberger said.
