Rep. Mike Simpson says he doesn’t see any momentum building in Congress for gun-control measures.

“I believe our nation and the Second Amendment are strong enough to withstand an examination of ways we can protect the most vulnerable among us without harming those liberties that God has given us to make us free,” Rep. Raul Labrador said.

Sen. Jim Risch is taking aim at the president’s use of executive orders to set policy. He said the vast majority of Idahoans who’ve contacted his office oppose any additional steps to restrict firearms.

“Very disappointing,” said Sen. Mike Crapo. “Burdening law-abiding citizens of this country with additional gun restrictions is not the answer to safeguarding the public from further attacks.”
