A Boise man linked to the Aryan Knights gang has admitted to unlawfully possessing a firearm during a traffic stop last summer.
Dallas Tyler Thompson, 31, faces up 10 years in prison when he's sentenced April 9 before U.S. District Judge Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Boise.
Thompson was in the front passenger seat when Boise Police Officer stopped a car for running a stop sign and removed the driver and Thompson from the car.
A police dog detected illegal drugs, and police found a Glock 9 mm handgun during a search.
The gun was stuffed under Thompson's seat. Thompson has a previous felony conviction for aggravated battery in Canyon County in 2001, which prohibits him from possessing firearms.
Thomspon is the 12th person to plead guilty to federal crimes as part of an federal investigation into the Aryan Knights, a gang said to be responsible for the distribution of methamphetamine in Idaho.
