A new, expanded Family Medical Health Center has opened at 2275 S. Eagle Road in Meridian.
The clinic, part of the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho program, has 5,500 square feet. It replaces a Meridian clinic that opened in January 2010 with 1,200 square feet.
"This clinic provides better access to primary care patients, the addition of behavioral health services and increased space for training family medicine residents," said Ted Epperly, a doctor who is the program director and CEO of the residency program.
The clinic will train family medicine residents, starting with two this summer and expanding to four in summer 2014. The clinic has five doctors and one social worker on staff. It offers primarily family medicine procedures and behavioral health services. The clinic takes Medicaid patients and offers discounts for uninsured patients based on income.
Patients interested in scheduling an appointment can call 514-2520.
The clinic will have a ribbon-cutting at noon Monday, Feb. 11. Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd will speak, and tours of the clinic will be provided. People interested in attending can RSVP by Wednesdfay, Feb. 6 to Mandy De Castro at 954-8679.
