Jacob Todd Campbell is being held in the Ada County Jail on a $350,000 bond for five counts of sexual exploitation of a child after Ada County Sheriffs deputies say they found illegal images and videos on his cell phone of underage girls.
The 22-year-old Campbell is also awaiting a jury trial, set to begin March 18, on five felony counts of lewd conduct in connection with an incident in October when deputies say he was caught having illegal sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl in a car in the Victory/Maple Grove roads neighborhood.
Deputies say the 22-year-old Campbell met the girl on Facebook earlier in the fall and had illegal sexual contact with her on more than one occasion. Deputies also say Campbell admitted that he knew the girl was 15, according to reports.
Sheriffs officials say a patrol deputy found Campbell and the girl in a car on a cul-de-sac at the end of South Mitchell Street about 1:30 a.m. Oct. 6.
An Ada County grand jury indicted Campbell on the lewd conduct charges last fall.
It was during the October arrest that investigators found the illegal images of young girls on Campbells phone, downloaded from the internet, that led to him being charged with the sexual exploitation charges. An arrest warrant for Campbell was issued late last week and sheriffs deputies arrested him Friday afternoon.
A preliminary hearing on the sexual exploitation charges is set for Jan. 28.
