Chipotle Mexican Grill plans to open a new restaurant at The Village at Meridian, the retail development going up on the northeast corner of Fairview Avenue and Eagle Road.

The restaurant will be 2,600 square feet and will include a recessed dining-area patio, making it larger than the typical Chipotle restaurant, according to an announcement from CenterCal Properties, the developer.

The restaurant is known mainly for serving burritos, tortilla-less burrito bowls and Mexican-style side dishes. Chipotle has more than 1,350 restaurants, including one at 205 N. Milwaukee St. in Boise.

CenterCal Properties plans to announce more store openings through the winter and spring, with a grand opening planned for October.
