Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State wrestling wins one, loses one

The Broncos went 1-1 during the first day of the Virginia Duels on Friday in Hampton, Va., defeating Buffalo 29-9 before falling to No. 19 Virginia 21-13 in the quarterfinals. Boise State will be in action Saturday against Army. A win will guarantee two more matches for the team.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S BASKETBALL: Eastern Oregon used a 15-1 run to secure a 60-45 win over the Coyotes in Caldwell. Sydney Donaldson had 15 points for the C of I, which fell to 9-10, 5-4 Cascade Conference.

C OF I WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: No. 8 Eastern Oregon extended it win streak to 12 games with a 57-53 victory over the C of I in Caldwell on Friday. Felicity Jones had 22 points for the Coyotes, who fell to 11-6, 7-2 CCC.

C OF I SWIMMING: The Coyotes’ men’s and women’s teams both were crushed by Pacific. The men lost 108-50, while the women were defeated 127-51.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Kenny Jones scored 23 points to lead the Crusaders to an 85-75 win over Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. NNU improved to 9-4, 3-2 GNAC. The game started Thursday night, but because of a power outage, it was finished Friday.

NNU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Three players scored in double-figures to lead the Crusaders to a 78-59 victory over Western Oregon in Nampa on Thursday night. Chelsie Luke led with 19 points for NNU (10-2, 2-2 GNAC).
