Idaho colleges roundup: Idaho men’s basketball falls at home to Denver

Denver outscored Idaho by 10 in the second half to record a 55-49 victory in Moscow on Thursday night. The Vandals (6-8, 2-2 WAC) were led by Stephen Madison with 19 points, but Idaho committed 12 second-half turnovers and 18 total in the game, which Denver (8-7, 4-1 WAC) turned into 19 points. As a team, Idaho shot 17-of-35 (.486) overall and 3-of-9 (.333) from 3-point range, along with a 12-of-15 (.800) showing at the free throw line. DU went 19-of-44 (.432) from the field, 5-of-18 (.278) from 3-point range and 12-of-13 (.923) from the free throw line.

IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Vandals used a second-half push to escape Denver with a 68-60 victory. The win improved Idaho’s record to 5-10, 2-2 WAC. Alyssa Charlston and Stacey Barr each had 17 points for the Vandals.

IDAHO STATE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Bengals (7-7, 2-3 BSC) snapped a four-game losing streak with an 80-71 victory over Southern Utah in Pocatello. Senior guard Abyee Maracigan led Idaho State with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
