California is a hotbed for young reggae bands, and San Diego is no exception. When Tribal Seeds appeared with a self-titled album in 2008, iTunes quickly crowned it one of the best reggae records of the year. Led by brothers Steven Jacobo (vocals) and Tony-Ray Jacobo (keyboards), the group has earned a bouncing, dedicated following by staying true to the genres roots. The Seeds operate on the same wavelength as Steel Pulse and Bob Marley.
