Published: January 9, 2013

The city of Meridian will hold a town hall meeting with lawmakers 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Ave.

Assistant Majority Leader Sen. Chuck Winder, who represents District 20 in Meridian, will be at the event along with other lawmakers who represent Meridian in districts 14, 20, 21 and 22.

Lawmakers will hear presentations on issues important to the city, Meridian Chamber of Commerce, Joint School District No. 2, the Meridian Development Corporation and Meridian's health sciences and technology sector, known as The CORE.

This will be a chance for people to learn some of the issues lawmakers may be dealing with at the Statehouse this session, including creation of a health insurance exchange and the proposal to eliminate the personal property tax.

Community members are encouraged to attend the meeting to ask lawmakers questions and offer their opinions on the legislative session.
