ADA COUNTY JAIL

Jordan Thomas Bolton, 22, is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony sexual exploitation of a child charge after police say they found images of child pornography at his Meridian home last summer.

The address for Bolton is listed on jail records as West Palm Beach, Florida, where Bolton goes to college, according to Meridian police.

Meridian police began their investigation after getting a tip from the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force early last summer. Officers found the illegal images inside Bolton’s home in the 1000 block of Cougar Creek Drive, located in the Ustick/Locust Grove roads neighborhood, while serving a search warrant on July 26, according to police reports.

The investigation was sent to Ada County prosecutors, who eventually issued an arrest warrant for Bolton on Dec. 22, according to sheriff’s records.

Meridian police arrested Bolton on the warrant Monday morning at the Cougar Creek residence without incident, officials said.

Bolton will make his initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

The crime of sexual exploitation of a child that Bolton is charged with is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
