Ada County prosecutors have charged Shaun M. Blodgett, 22, with felony lewd conduct after Boise police say he had illegal sexual contact with a girl under the age of 16 late last year.

Ada County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Blodgett Friday on a warrant issued earlier that day. Blodgett posted a $10,000 bond and was released from the Ada County Jail Saturday. He is set to make his initial court appearance Wednesday.

Boise police were first contacted about the case in October, and detectives found evidence that the illegal sexual contact occurred at a Boise area home earlier that month.

Police finished their investigation and sent to the case to prosecutors, who issued a warrant for Blodgett Jan. 4.

Police did say the girl was known to Blodgett but did not say how.

The crime of lewd conduct is punishable by up to life in prison.
