Boise, Nampa still offering Christmas tree recycling

Published: January 5, 2013

BOISE — Residents can have their trees and bundled branches recycled into mulch by setting them out with the regular trash this week. Trees must be free of lights, ornaments, tinsel and stand. They must be cut to 4-foot lengths or shorter, and branches must also be bundled and weigh less than 60 pounds. Flocked trees and wreaths are not accepted.

The city of Nampa will accept trees for recycling through Jan. 14. Residents can drop their trees at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St. N., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Follow signs for exact drop spots in the cemetery. Trees must be free of stands, lights and other objects. The trees will be mulched and used throughout the city on walking paths and in tree wells.

Tree collection in Meridian ended Jan. 5. Find other options online at republicservicesidaho.com.
