Samantha M. Davis is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $500,000 bond on an attempted murder charge after Weiser police say she stabbed a man in the back on Jan. 1.
Police were sent to a home in the 300 block of East Galloway Street just before 1:30 a.m. Jan. 1 and found a 41-year-old man with a stab wound to the lower back. That man was taken to a Boise-area hospital for treatment and was still there as of early Thursday afternoon, according to reports.
Investigators later determined the 23-year-old Davis stabbed the man and charged her with attempted murder and a felony count of domestic violence/battery the next day. Police officials did not say how Davis and the man knew each other or release any information about a possible motive.
A preliminary hearing for Davis is set for Jan. 16 in Washington County.
The crime of attempted murder is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
