Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women’s hoops fall to Syracuse on the road

Syracuse improved to 12-1 and extended its home win streak to 52 against nonconference opponents with an 87-48 win over the Broncos on Sunday afternoon at Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. Lauren Lenhardt and Julia Marshall led BSU (6-6) with 11 points apiece. The Broncos’ last lead in the game was 7-4 early in the first half. Syracuse went on a 9-0 run and never looked back, eventually taking a 46-19 advantage into the half. Brittney Sykes led the Orange with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Boise State hosts the College of Idaho at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Taco Bell Arena.

IDAHO STATE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Bengals’ second-half rally came up short in a 60-53 loss to Arizona State in Pocatello. Trailing 31-20 at halftime, ISU (6-5) fought back to tie the game 46-46 with 5:24 remaining but couldn’t hold on. Ashleigh Vella led ISU with 15 points.
