What defines Boise for you? We’re making a list of icons as city turns 150

Published: December 28, 2012

Boise’s sesquicentennial in 2013: As part of the Idaho Statesman’s special coverage, we’re compiling a list based on reader input of 150 classic, time-tested icons that make Boise the city that it is.

Table Rock? The chicken on Jim’s Cafe? The Broncos’ blue turf? The library’s exclamation point? Tell us what you think. Send your submissions by Sunday, Jan. 13, to Anna Webb at awebb@idahostatesman.com or c/o The Idaho Statesman, 2100 N. Curtis Road, Boise ID 83706. Include your name and contact info.

A new icon will appear daily in the paper and at idahostatesman.com beginning Feb. 7 and continuing for 150 days leading up to the citywide celebration on July 7.

Coming in Saturday’s Statesman: Learn about the city’s plan for an exhibit on Boise history made up of items from residents’ personal collections.
