Two vehicles traveling east on Franklin Road slid into oncoming traffic lanes Thursday morning, colliding with two westbound vehicles, according to Boise police.
The crash happened just after 9 a.m. on Franklin, between Five Mile and Maple Grove roads.
The driver of one of the vehicles that slid into the westbound lanes had to be extricated from his SUV after his door was smashed in during the collisions. The adult male driver was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries at the time of the crash. No one else was seriously injured in the incident.
Police said weather appeared to be a significant factor in the crash. The eastbound driver Kelly Brown, a 29-year-old Boisean cited for driving too fast for conditions. The driver who was hospitalized may also be cited, a police spokesman said.
