Boise police were called to a hotel in the 2600 block of West Fairview Avenue just before midnight Wednesday to investigate a disturbance.
A woman near the lobby of the hotel told police that a man she had been staying with at the hotel became aggressive, made threats with a knife, and then attempted to stab her.
Investigators identified the suspect as Thomas L. Herman, 55, and found a pocket knife on him when they arrested him. They believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Herman was transported to the Ada County Jail, where he faces a charge of felony aggravated assault
