Bogus Basin fans celebrated 9 inches of new snow Sunday and early Monday, bringing the base total to 21 inches. The tubing hill will open Tuesday (make reservations at bogusbasin.org) and the rest of the runs and lifts will open Wednesday. Night skiing also will begin the day after Christmas, though areas served by Superior Lift No. 3 still need more snow. A day/night lift ticket is $48; a night ticket by itself is $22. Holiday operating hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

White Christmas in Boise? Well, maybe. Forecasters say there could be snow by the time you go to bed tonight — about 2 to 4 inches into Wednesday morning. Motorists should prepare for wind gusts of up to 30 mph. Up to a foot of snow might fall in Oregon’s Harney County; 3 to 6 inches is forecast for parts of Southwest Idaho.

Warm up at The Springs in Idaho City Feb. 14: The popular hot springs where 19th century gold miners bathed and generations of Idahoans learned to swim will reopen on Valentine’s Day. The former Warm Springs Resort closed in 2001 due to septic system problems. The Springs features a new 2,400-square-foot pool house, a refurbished 96,000-gallon hot springs pool and overnight accommodations. Those who “like” its Facebook page by Feb. 1 will be invited to check out the resort before its grand opening.
