Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women’s hoops team rallies past South Dakota

Diana Lee scored five straight points in the final minute to help the Broncos to a 52-50 victory over South Dakota on Saturday at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos trailed by seven midway through the second half. Lee recorded a season-high 13 points, scoring 10 in the second half. Miquelle Askew chipped in 12 points for BSU (6-5), Amber Vandiver added a team-high 12 rebounds and Lexie Der had a career-high 11 boards. box score, S8

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Laura Geis scored 19 points and added 11 rebounds as the Coyotes ran their win streak to three with a 76-58 victory over Evergreen State in Caldwell. Felicity Jones added 15 points and five assists, and the Coyotes (9-5, 5-1 Cascade Conference) made 19-of-22 free throws.

C OF I MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes defeated Evergreen State 81-69 in Caldwell. Sydney Donaldson and Miguel Rodriguez each recorded career-highs in scoring with 21 and 19 points, respectively, as the C of I (7-8, 3-3 CCC) shot 51 percent from the field.

IDAHO STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Bengals rallied but then couldn’t hold on in a 57-54 loss to Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash. Melvin Morgan led Idaho State (1-9, 0-2 Big Sky) with 14 points, while Ayibakuro Preh had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

ISU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Poor shooting doomed the Bengals in a 61-55 loss to Eastern Washington in Pocatello. Jessa Jeppesen led ISU (6-4, 1-1 Big Sky) with 11 points.
