Boise Master Naturalist program begins in January

Published: December 22, 2012

A few spaces are left in the fifth session of the Sagebrush-steppe Chapter of the Idaho Master Naturalist Program. The program is sponsored by the MK Nature Center, the Foothills Learning Center and the Idaho Botanical Garden.

The new session will begin in January.

The purpose of the program is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers who want to take part in the stewardship of the state's natural environment. After completing the program, which lasts three months and has weekly meetings on Tuesday mornings, volunteers do a number of things in the community, including working at nature centers, presenting nature programs to children, monitoring wildlife and more.

If you're interested, call Sara Focht, wildlife educator at the MK Nature Center, 921-6933.
