Idaho businesses are invited to join Gov. Butch Otter's spring trade mission to Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam this spring.
The trade delegation will visit Seoul, Taipei and Ho Chi Minh City from April 19 to 27. Locations were chosen from a survey of Idaho companies' top export destinations, according to the Idaho Department of Commerce.
According to the department,Taiwan is Idahos third largest trade partner, and Korea is a top-five export destination for Idaho companies. Vietnam is an emerging market for Idaho companies, but it holds strong potential for a variety of Idahos key export sectors.
This will be Otters second visit to Vietnam since 2008.
"His return visit will strengthen Idahos relationship with key government officials and allow Idaho companies to open new doors in this rapidly growing economy," according to the Department of Commerce.
The goal of trade mission is to open doors to international markets for Idaho businesses while allowing them to gain high-level access to both private sector businesses and key government decision makers.
"Idaho companies looking to expand sales, build distribution networks or strategic alliances, and strengthen existing customer relationships are encouraged to participate," according to the commerce department.
Participating companies will receive pre-qualified appointments, market briefings in each country, turnkey logistical arrangements for the trip, and business networking receptions in Seoul and Taipei.
Space for joining the Governor on this trade mission is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 1.
