The city of Boise celebrates a big birthday its 150th in 2013. As part of the Idaho Statesman's special sesquicentennial coverage, we're compiling a list based on reader input of 150 classic, time-tested icons that make Boise the city it is.
What tells you youre home?
Is it the State Capitol dome? The chicken on top of Jims Cafe? Bronco Stadiums blue turf? The smell of the Foothills after a rain storm? The tasseled red hat sign at the Cabana Inn? The beef jerky at Smoky Davis? The washer woman on Vista?
We want to know.
We're running our list of icons daily in the paper and online beginning Thursday, Feb. 7. We'll continue for 150 straight days leading up to the city-wide birthday celebration on July 7, 2013.
