The Broncos won 15-of-16 events in beating the Cougars 191-102 on Saturday at the West Family YMCA. Four pool records fell, set by Rachel Heaney (200-yard butterfly, 2:02.04), Devin Madsen (100 backstroke, 56.13 seconds), the Boise State 200 medley relay team (Jessica Bottelberghe, Sydney Johansen, Stevie Hughey and Sam Wicks, 1:43.74) and the BSU 200 freestyle relay team (Madsen, Hughey, Wick and Shanelle Choi, 1:35.40). Bottelberghe won three individual events the 100 and 200 freestyle races and the 200 individual medley.
Boise State womens basketball: The Broncos will play their third game in a four-game homestand against Portland at 2 p.m. Sunday at Taco Bell Arena. Boise State (5-4) is 1-1 during the homestand, including a win against Carroll College and a loss to Eastern Washington, and is 2-2 at home this season. The Pilots are 2-7 on the year.
Idaho mens basketball: Kyle Barone led the Vandals to an easy 91-47 win over Walla Walla in Moscow. In only 17 minutes of play, Barone had 15 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Stephen Madison added 14 points for the Vandals (4-5), who took control with a 20-2 run in the first half. College of Idaho mens basketball: The Coyotes shot 69 percent in the second half to overcome an 11-point halftime deficit and force overtime, but Southern Oregon prevailed in the extra session, winning 100-93 in Ashland, Ore. Rodney Delgardo hit 9-of-15 shots including two 3-pointers to lead C of I (6-7, 2-2 CCC) with 23 points.
C of I womens basketball: The Coyotes never trailed after scoring 13 of the games first 15 points in beating Southern Oregon 95-82 in Ashland, Ore. Felicity Jones paced C of I (7-5, 3-1 CCC) with 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Northwest Nazarene womens basketball: The Crusaders (8-2) beat Simpson University 95-55 in their final game in the Saint Martins Classic in Lacey, Wash. Megan Hington had a double-double for the second night in a row, scoring 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting and grabbing 10 rebounds.
