Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State women’s swimmers open home slate

The defending Mountain West champion Broncos will host BYU at noon Saturday at the West Family YMCA and Boise Aquatic Center. It is the first time Boise State has hosted a meet against the Cougars. Eighteen letterwinners return for BSU, including seniors Christine Raininger and Stevie Hughey, junior Rachel Heaney and sophomore Sydney Johansen.

IDAHO STATE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Bengals built a 23-point halftime lead and cruised to a 70-38 victory over Carroll College on Friday in Pocatello. Kaela Oakes led Idaho State (5-3) with 16 points, one of three Bengals in double figures.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S BASKETBALL: Duncan Koga scored all of his 16 points in the second half to lead the Coyotes to a 79-72 victory over defending Division II national champion Oregon Tech on Friday in Klamath Falls, Ore. The College of Idaho (6-6, 2-1 CCC) used a 15-5 run to overcome an eight-point halftime deficit.

C OF I WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Oregon Tech ended a 12-game losing streak to the Coyotes with a 61-58 victory Friday in Klamath Falls, Ore. Katelin Shannon led College of Idaho (6-5, 2-1 CCC) with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five steals.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Megan Hingston had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Crusaders (7-2) past Dominican University in Game 1 of the Saint Martin’s University Classic on Friday in Lacey, Wash.
