Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State hires women’s soccer coach

Jim Thomas joins the Broncos after spending the past five seasons as an assistant coach at Washington. Thomas helped guide the Huskies to a 50-28-11 record, including four NCAA Tournament appearances and a run to the Elite Eight in 2010. Prior to his arrival, Washington went 12-43-5. Thomas’ duties included recruiting and leading on-field training sessions.

IDAHO STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Kwame Vaughn scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists, and Cal State Fullerton beat Idaho State 66-53 in Fullerton, Calif. Tomas Sanchez led Idaho State (1-7) with 17 points and five rebounds.
