Russian cargo plane offloads equipment for Chobani at Boise Airport

Published: December 10, 2012

Boise Airport took on a bit of international flair when a large Russian cargo plane landed there.

The plane, owned by the Volga-Dnepr Group, landed about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. It came in from Glasgow Prestwick Airport in Scotland bearing cargo for the soon-to-open yogurt plant in Twin Falls, airport officials said Monday.

Chobani Inc., based in New Berlin, N.Y., will dedicate its new Greek yogurt plant next Monday. Chobani says it will be the nation's largest yogurt plant. The plant will employ about 400. A Chobani spokesman had no information Monday about the cargo shipment.
