Idaho region president to leave Key Bank as part of bank realignment

Published: December 10, 2012

Joel Hickman, Key Bank's Idaho district president, will leave his job at the end of the year as part of a company reorganization.

Key Bank is combining the Idaho and Colorado regions in Colorado under Tom Spilman, who will serve as the president of the combined region.

Hickman worked for Key Bank for 25 years. He was named district president in 2003.

Two other positions — business banking sales leader and district retail leader — are being combined with other positions, resulting in two more Boise executives leaving the bank.

"Joel Hickman has been an integral part of Key Bank's success and growth in Idaho," said Wes Lawrence, president of Key Bank's five-state west region, which includes Idaho. "He as been an active leader in the Treasure Vally community, and we will miss his dedication, camaraderie and leadership."

Kevin Donovan, the Idaho market manager for Key Private Bank, which serves with high-net-worth clients, will be the local leader for Key Bank in Idaho.

Spilman has been with Key Bank since 1994 and served as president of South Puget Sound District in Tacoma and the Colorado District.

Key Bank has 380 employees and 33 branches in Idaho. It is the third-largest bank in the Treasure Valley measured by deposits.
