Eugene Ballet artistic director Toni Pimble created her pop-up storybook production while her company was allied with Ballet Idaho. Now that the companies are independent, Eugene continues to return to Idaho. The production is filled with vivid sets and costumes by Disney artist Don Carlson and features more than 50 area children. Pimbles original touches turn the Mouse King into a pirate with a full-sail ship that rolls onto stage, a fireplace that becomes a giant mouse head and a hot air balloon and carousel horse that take Clara and Hans on a journey to the Land of Sweets.
