Boise woman says stranger sexually assaulted her in her own home

Published: December 5, 2012

A woman told police she was sexually assaulted by a stranger who broke into her home near Camelsback Park in Boise early Wednesday.

The woman said the assault happened about 2 a.m. at her home in the area of North 15th Street and Lemp Street but she didn't report it to police until 12:30 p.m. No description of the assailant was released Wednesday; police said they were releasing few details about the case because of the ongoing investigation.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Police urge citizens to use precaution and report suspicious activity to police dispatch, and emergencies to 911.

Another sexual assault was reported Nov. 18 at University Drive near Manitou Street, south of Boise State University. A woman said she was walking south on University between 11 p.m. and midnight when she was attacked.

The attacker in that case is described as a light-skinned man in his early 20s with short dark hair and scruffy facial hair. He wore dark clothing.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, go online to www.343cops.com or text to CRIMES (274637), subject Tip236.
