It may be December, but Idaho Fish and Game is still stocking rainbow trout in Southwest Idaho.

Put on the fingerless neoprene gloves and make a few casts.

Anglers are also reminded that many rivers that used to be closed after Nov. 30 are now open year-round. Check Idaho Fish and Game’s new rules booklet available at license vendors, or download it online at fishandgame.idaho.gov.

Here’s a list of areas that have been stocked, or will be planted:

•Boise River (above Glenwood Bridge): Dec. 3, 2,000.

•Boise River (below Glenwood Bridge): Dec. 3, 1,000.

•Eagle Island Park Pond: Dec. 3, 450.

•Marsing Pond: Dec. 3 and 31, 450 each.

•Parkcenter Pond (Boise): Dec. 3, 1,000.

•Quinn’s Pond (Boise): Dec. 3, 450.

•Riverside Pond (Garden City): Dec. 3, 500.

•Sawyer’s Ponds (Emmett): Dec. 3, 450.

•Veterans Park Pond (Boise): Dec. 3, 450.

•Wilson Springs (Nampa): Dec. 3, Dec. 17, 31, 250 each day.

•Wilson Springs Ponds (Nampa): Dec. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, 500 each day.

F&G says the number of trout released may be altered by weather, water conditions, equipment problems or schedule changes.

If delays occur, trout will be stocked when conditions become favorable.
