Book Addicts' Pam Brewer: Boise author writes about mystery, myths and destiny

Published: December 2, 2012

Erynne O’Keefe is grieving, as her mother recently committed suicide. Erynne’s mother, Shannon, had always suffered from nightmares and the haunting cries of children. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she was actually very restful until three days ago, when her nightmares started again. She talked about how “they” found her and were after her once more.

Soon after her mother dies, Erynne starts to dream of a man named Colin. The dreams seem so real. After going through her mother’s things and reading letters her mother received that also talked of dreams, she realizes something strange is happening and flies to Phoenix.

There she finds part of what she is looking for but leaves with many questions unanswered.

There is a story that Erynne remembers about Druids and a necklace, a story she heard from her grandmother.

Her friend Len looks up the information and finds that it is an Irish legend about two children who have a natural bond between them. They are to marry, which would remove an evil presence of power.

The children were taken, but no one knows what happened to them until Erynne’s ancient past catches up with her, and a U.S. senator named Michael Reardon becomes obsessed with her and tries to fulfill the prophesy.

My review: This is a very interesting and intriguing story that I enjoyed immensely. The mythical references and mystery surrounding the characters were suspenseful and keep you turning the pages until you find out what happens at the end.

My rating: I loved it.
